SYPNOSIS

Marlowe, our beloved P.I, find himself in over his head when helping a friend and main suspect of his wife‘s murder escape to Mexico, his rigid code of loyalty to Terry Lennox had led him to get in trouble with the law, arrested and beaten, before being warned by someome from the underworld to keep his nose clean. On his search, he got tangled up with the dysfuctional Wade household, full of broken people glue together by veener of civility and grandeur, before he found his match was a rich heiress he inevitably fall for- ending his arc as a lone wolf. 

CHARACTERS

Philip Marlowe

The gritty, world-weary and emotionally stunted private detective whose ambigious moral code and intergrity make him an outsider of society, his stubborn loyalty and devotion to a friend not only pit him against the law, the underworld and the high society, but also kicks off the beginning of the “long goobye” to the very concept of friendship.

Terry Lennox

The World War 2 veteran who returned with scars and a realization that the world had left him behind, except alchohol, his beautiful British wife before the war had been married to someone else and his new wife, daughter of a rich newspaper magnate, was brutally murdered, leaving the spotlight on him. With a helpless situtation comes a P.I who was willing to drive him to Mexico to escape his fate.

Roger Wade

A historical romance best-seller writter who developed an ennui for the disingenuous historical inaccuarcies in his work and couldn’t find the motivation to keep writting, a mentally-troubled man who lacks the help he need leading to several suicide attempt for his muder diguised as one. His alchoholism seem to represent Terry Lennox in a way he doesn’t reconize, leading to both Marlowe and Eileen Wade to be drawn to him.

Eileen Wade

Wife of Roger Wade, and ex-wife of Terry Lennox, she got married to him when he was still in service in Britain, under the name Paul Marston, but when he got captured by Nazis, she married Roger Wade for the sole reason because he shared many similarities. She got close to Marlowe for the same reason, her love seemed to be frozen in time for a dead man, which led her to grown attached to anyone who shared traits with him. Under her doctor’s prescriptions, she is under demerol most of the time, indifferent to her surrounding.
